Warm day at sea

Day 3  Tuesday, January 22, 2019   At Sea

Today was much warmer, and we spent lots of time by the pool in the sun. This photo is from the 17th level at the Margaritaville Cafe. It was open for a buffet breakfast, which we did this morning and many others. Also, I would come here each morning after my cycling in the fitness room to get our two coffees, and take them back to the room. Sometimes Janet would be awake when I returned, and other times not.
After our morning coffee, we would force ourselves out of bed! You can see how nice it was to have the forward-facing window, and also the large platform in front of it for throwing all our junk. It also served us well to have a place to let our wet suits, towels, and back packs sit to dry out.
Eating breakfast at Margaritaville. We had first tried the Savor main dining room - way too crowded. Then we tried the buffet - also way too crowded. So we discovered this spot -- far less crowded, plus it was in the fresh air. Margaritaville was open only for breakfast and lunch, but lunch cost an extra $15. Thus, we never had lunch there. We guessed that what we missed was getting to have a $15 cheeseburger.
See how sunny it was? I even did the water tube up there in the background, in which you sit in an inner tube and swoosh through. We also got to watch the Jimmy Buffett video on the big screen out there, which we liked, especially since the day before we departed from Cinci, we had bought tickets for the next Jimmy concert in July.

Because it was so crowded out by the pool, we tried this little spot next to the jogging track on 17th level.
We didn't like it here too much, so as soon as we found other chairs open up, we moved.
Nice sunny spot to relax! In the background, you can see the screen where they provided information, but also the daily Jimmy Buffett concert video.

For lunch, we ate at Shenanigan's, and this was afterward getting some time to read out of the sun. We are in the atrium overlooking one of the many loud activities held there during the cruise.
We did not like that on this ship, designed without large lounge rooms elsewhere, all the crowd activities had to be held in the atrium, such as this dance class. This meant that three levels in center ship had to be exposed to all the loud noises occurring there all day long. Peace and quiet had to be sought elsewhere!

This was a day when Janet had a few too many drinks while we were lounging on the 17th level deck chairs and reading (yes, even I read books! Mine was Bad Blood, that Janet gave me for Xmas). We had mimosas, margaritas, and she added her new favorite, gin and tonics. She had to nap them off in the afternoon, and she got pretty funny. She's a happy drunk! hahaha

For dinner, we used one of our free coupons for being Platinum members, and ate at Moderno, the Brazilian meat restaurant. As with the regular buffet, staff had to serve us from their salad-appetizer buffet before the meat carvings were served to us. We enjoyed the beef filets, lamb, and pineapple.

The theater show was a juggler comedian, and then we finished up listening to JR in the District Brew House. We hit the hay early, at 9:30. It was either this night or another one fairly early on that we had a knock at our door. It was Jackie, our housekeeper, asking us to close our window curtains since the light from our room was interfering with the view from the navigation room above us. They hadn't asked us to do this on our previous nights! But from then on, we kept our curtains closed at night.
